Monday's lineup of digital events includes a panel discussion and interactive experience with women leaders in VR, AR, and AI, as well as a talk and mixer about storytelling with industry leaders in advertising, television, film, stop motion animation.
Tuesday's offerings include a SketchUp workshop for beginners, a presentation about the importance of storytelling in collaborative virtual environments with social VR/AR, and demos and discussion about placemaking and community-centered applications of VR.
Wednesday's options include a talk by Sara Wachter-Boettcher about non-inclusive tech and how we can do better, as well as a panel hosted by Particle Design CEO Crystal Rutland about the use of AI in transportation.
On Thursday, University of Oregon Portland kicks off a three day series about technology, AKQA hosts an event that examines machine learning with the invention of a brand new sport (designed by a computer), and oddfellows creates a live "exquisite corpse" style animation creation.
On Friday, Emerge Interactive hosts a panel of experts to speak about design debt and how to avoid it, and NWEA will have a presentation and panel about accessibility, including designing with inclusion in mind from the beginning, and technical tips for development.
The festival events end on Saturday, as does the three day series about technology hosted by University of Oregon Portland. Immerse yourself at a workshop led by Instrument, intended to help everyone from novices to professionals start creating functional and compelling immersive XR content. Wrap up the day at the Wacom Experience Center for a vector design challenge and party with local designers.
