Community Organizing: Legal Basics

Oregon Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts presents:

Community Organizing: Legal Basics

A conversation about legal protections for community organizing

We'll talk through legal issues like starting and running nonprofit organizations, liabilities that organizers and volunteers should know about, how to protect yourself and your work, and how to use other people's work.

This event is for you if you:

  • Organize or want to organize events
  • Volunteer or use volunteers
  • Create or share artwork for social causes
  • Want to use other people's artwork

The talk will be around an hour and we'll have a Q&A after.

Bryan Wasetis will lead the talk. Bryan is an arts and entertainment attorney at Aspect Law Group and on the OVLA board of directors.

A link to the video conference will be emailed to you before the event if you sign up to attend. Contact bryan@oregonvla.org or check your spam folder if you do not receive it.

This is an informational event. We can answer questions, but we can't give you specific legal advice. If you'd like independent legal advice, please apply to our legal clinic.

Thanks!

By attending this event, you agree to OVLA's core values and code of conduct.
