Festival registration is open! Design Week 2020 runs virtually from August 3-7.
Join Outlet for our first annual 5x5 print show! This virtual riso print show will showcase work by local BIPOC artists and will be raising funds for 5 incredible organizations. Buy a beautiful riso print and support 5 great and important causes in the areas of BIPOC representation, equity, community support, youth activism, anti-incarceration, and police- and prison-abolition.
This show will run virtually for all of Design Week (August 3-9) via Outlet’s website and until prints sell out. All prints are priced between $10-$50 (higher donations always accepted). All artists are being compensated for their submissions and 100% of the remaining funds will be donated to the following 5 local organizations working in the fields of BIPOC representation, equity, community support, youth activism, anti-incarceration, and police- and prison-abolition: Don’t Shoot PDX, The Black Resilience Fund NW, The Black Food Sovereignty Coalition, Critical Resistance PDX, and Momentum Alliance.
Visit Outlet’s website to check out this print show, support local BIPOC artists, raise money for some great causes, and explore all that Outlet has to offer in the form of printing, classes, binding services, button making, workshops, zines, shopping, and other year-round fun events.
Are you interested in supporting Outlet during this time? While we’re compensating artists with workshop tickets and printing credits ($50-75 per artist) and donating 100% of profits made from this print sale, we’re also accepting donations to cover our printing, paper, and labor costs. You can donate directly to our Venmo @outletpdx or buy something from our shop. We so appreciate your support!
Got a question not answered here? You can contact our studio manager Leland via email at firstname.lastname@example.org anytime!
Outlet is a risograph print shop and the studio of Kate Bingaman-Burt—local illustrator, educator, and creative. We host regular workshops, classes, and pop-up events (virtually!) and are home to a massive zine library, button making machines, a ridiculous amount of collage and art supplies, a retail shop full of local artists, and 4 risograph printers named Barbara, Tina, Janet, and Corita. We teach workshops on how to print with these machines and are taking orders for all your riso printing and making needs. During non-COVID times we offer open hours when folks can come in and print, access supplies, or just hang out. We opened during Design Week Portland 2017 and have been printing up a storm ever since!
