Homebrew NW 2020: A Pacific NW Animation Screening is a brand new curated collection of works from The Pacific North West animators making the screening beautiful, bold and magical. Organized and moderated by Sophya Vidal, a long-standing member of the local animation and theatre community, creative and thoughtful storytelling are at the heart of the showcase. The screening includes works from many disciplines, mediums, and points of view. The first of many to come, won't you join this inaugural event? Brought to you by The Animation Resource Community Service (ARCS) and Portland ASIFA.

Technical details: Ticket holders will receive their digital pass info link for the screening starting August 2nd. The screening steam will go live Friday, August 7th and close Saturday, August 9th (at midnight). It's about a 2 hour watch, but you can see it at your pace anytime over the weekend.

Sophya Vidal (Founder of ARCS) and ASIFA Portland

Sophya Vidal is an artist, animator,improviser, poet and sketch writer based in Portland Oregon. For the last several years she has managed ARCS- the Animation Resource Community Service group on Facebook. At its heart is a place for indie and freelance animators in Portland to stay connected, advice, and grew as creatives. Past ARCS events include freelancing workshops, Creatifeme (the annual Women in Animation panel talk (4 years)) and HOMEBREW PDX, the local indie animation screening event that has been a part of the fertile ground new works festival for the last 5 years.

ASIFA Portland is the Portland, Oregon chapter of the International Animated Film Society: Association International du Film d'Animation. Our group exists to boost the art of animation and the community that practices it, promoting a free exchange of ideas both locally and internationally.
