Festival registration is open! Design Week 2020 runs virtually from August 3-7.
What happens when we use design as a core value in government and civic processes?
Join us for a panel discussion on the potential of design. Panelists include representatives from social enterprise, philanthropic, and government / civic space.
Design can often lead to exclusion. In order to support inclusive design across the places where we live, work, and play, we need to better understand how to integrate equity-centered design into existing systems and processes — especially those that govern (literally) our neighborhoods and city. Attending this event will give insight into the practices within those in the public and social innovation sector, providing insight into the current conversation, and furthering the conversation through the open discussion of best practices and challenges of applying equity-centered design in the public sector.
Confirmed panelists include: Mary Li, (Director, Multnomah Idea Lab); Shari Dunn, (Former CEO, Dress for Success Oregon); Desiree Williams-Rajee (Owner, Kapwa Consulting)
Moderator: Susana Arellano (Project Officer, European Union International Urban Cooperation Program)
NOTE: Ticket proceeds go towards social impact design projects. Please email panel organizers for discount code if financial hardship is a consideration.
