Festival registration is open! Design Week 2020 runs April 18–25.
Our moderator, Janelle Pietrzak of All Roads Design Studio, is a textile artist with a 10+ year history working in fashion design. She will lead our panel participants in a discussion on the various ways textile artists can bring their work to the marketplace. Our panel includes an impressive line up including Francesca Capone, Fine Artist and Materials Design Manager at Nike, Jared Flood, Owner and Pattern Designer for Brooklyn Tweed, Carley Kahn, Textile Surface Designer, Skye McNeill, Textile and Fashion Designer for Orozco, and Kristie Strasen, Color Expert and Textiles Designer with over 30 years of experience. These panel members are the avant-garde of the new “Fiber and Textile Movement” in the Pacific NW. Collectively the panelists possess a diverse textile and fiber range of experience in fine art, home goods, fashion, corporate and manufacturer collaboration.
The panel discussion will be Hosted by Portland’s newest hip hotel; The Hoxton, located in their Apartment suite. The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels inspired by the diversity and originality of the streets and scenes that surround them.
In combination with the panel discussion Stockpiler with be hosting a Textile Marketplace featuring the work of artists on the panel and an array of Portland-based textile and fiber artists. In lieu of a silent auction, specific items in the marketplace will benefit Portland Textile Month!
The Hoxton will provide guests with appetizers from their incredible in-house restaurants, and there will be a no-host bar for alcoholic beverages.
Stockpiler is a creative community connector working to support artists through events, gallery showcases, and pop up markets.
