Social Impact Design Workshop with OpenIDEO Portland Chapter + Social Impact Lab PDX

This evening of learning and hands-on activities will celebrate the fall launch of the Social Impact Lab and preview the upcoming challenge for the Spring lab through our special partnership with Portland Fire and Rescue’s Blueprint for Success project.

The Social Impact Lab PDX is an eight-week design “marathon” focused on making a difference in a local Portland community through social impact design. The Social Impact Lab matches teams of Portland-area professionals with local projects to design around a specific challenge; teams work closely with project sponsors to research, ideate, design, build and test solutions that meet the needs of the challenge.

The fall lab involved collaborations between two local impact projects and over twenty professionals split up between four teams. The spring lab will continue to feature our unique approach to community-based social impact design through an exciting partnership with Portland Fire and Rescue’s latest community-based project, Blueprint for Success.

This a perfect event for those who want to see how human-centered design has been applied to local projects in a meaningful way in our community as well as learn about how to get involved and put their professional skills towards "good" in a practical way.

This Festival Event has ended.
