Festival registration is open! Design Week 2020 runs virtually from August 3-7.
Portland in Color, a database and website featuring Portland artists of color, disrupts the narrative of a homogenous Portland arts and media landscape by showcasing the work, voices, and experiences of the city’s BIPOC (Black, indigenous, and people of color) creatives.
Join Emilly Prado, operations director and features editor, for "Redesigning the Narrative," a panel with local artists about dismantling industry gatekeeping, and redesigning inclusivity. Browse the exhibit featuring works by local artists and designers in the Portland in Color network following the talk.
The gallery exhibit for Redesigning the Narrative will be open for the duration of Design Week at the Wieden and Kennedy gallery from 11-6 on weekdays and 11-3 on weekends. The exhibit and panel are presented by Swift and Wieden + Kennedy.
Portland in Color is dedicated to compensating artists for their labor and pays an honorarium to each featured artist in our interview series. All proceeds for the event will be used to continue funding our Portland in Color features and website maintenance.
Portland in Color seeks to disrupt the false homogeneity of Portland by highlighting BIPOC artists.
