Pretty with Purpose: How to be real, be strong, and make an impact.

HUB is bringing together six dynamic speakers sharing stories, inspiration, and tips for how to find your purpose, own your story, forge your own path, make people care and find personal fulfillment along the way. How can we balance doing our best work and showing up genuinely, while making the world a better place? Each of the 15-minute talks will focus on a different aspect of the challenge many creatives are looking to solve.

The day-long event includes three keynote speakers in the morning followed by a selection of breakout sessions for the topic of your choice. After a lunch break on the town three more speakers will share their talks and fresh breakout sessions to choose from. All of this is followed by a lively happy hour to chat, connect, and unpack the day.

Our speakers include: Lindsey Hammond-Charlet is the owner of HUB Collective and the host of this event. A disarmingly real and dynamic speaker, Lindsey believes that leading from your true values can create a more powerful, more productive, more meaningful way to work together.

For nearly 20 years, Sarai Johnson has managed and expanded small businesses and nonprofits to help them transform and perform to meet their strategic goals. Currently, Sarai transmutes strategy into action and ideas into implementation in her role as the Business Alchemist with Melanie Spring Productions. She is a celebrated trainer, facilitator, strategic consultant, and coach.

Melanie Spring is a speaker trainer and brand facilitator - helping companies & humans grow through storytelling. She loves branding so much that she once drove 7,000 miles in 3 weeks to find out how great brands work.

Dian Holton wears many hats – most of which can't be showcased on one platform! Dan Russell can be best described as Don Draper's tech-savvy twin. He uses old school marketing strategy with new-school tricks to develop strategies in a cutting-edge field called neuromarketing. As the CEO and lead strategist at Vivid Labs, he and his team develop and publish ethical marketing strategies based on the science of human behavior.

Tina Essmaker is an NYC-based coach, writer, and speaker. An expert in the creative landscape with more than 10 years of experience, Tina’s coaching practice draws on her formal education as a social worker, years of researching and interviewing creatives as Editor in Chief of The Great Discontent magazine, and her training in the coaching framework. Personable yet practical, Tina’s approach is rooted in helping individuals and teams across creative industries take action toward their goals.

Pretty with purpose. We all have a purpose. Finding what your purpose is and how to bring it to life is a challenge we all face. Lindsey faced multiple challenges in her personal and professional life and found that bringing beauty into the world was not enough. Her desire to grow and create a better work environment, transformed her company into something much bigger than she could imagine. (Lindsey Hammond-Charlet)

Dive Deep to Fly High: Grow into Audacious Leadership. Change is constant, relentless, and, for most people, terrifying. This is true for us no matter how much transition and change we have faced in our lives – but it doesn’t have to be so daunting if we can learn to live into the changes with courage and fierce love. In Dive Deep to Fly High, people learn:

  • The Seven Phases of Change
  • How to Leave in Love (leave old ways of being behind to allow transformation)
  • How to Live in Love (build a new way of being)
  • How to Lead in Love (moving into the next phase of growth and change with grace and wisdom)

Looking at how big brands with big budgets tell stories and how you can tell yours with any budget (promise), I'll share how you can get your whole team on board to get people talking about YOU! Adjusting to an ever-changing world. A former military dependent, Dian shares insight into her life as a multi-faceted designer in both news media and the retail space. Additionally she will explore how mentorship played a key role in her professional life and how getting involved with AIGA (the professional association for design) initiatives diversity and inclusion, women's leadership, design continuum scholarship to name a few helped shaped her career and countless others.(Dian Holton)

Neuromarketing… why we buy. What do shampoo, cigarettes, and a genius homeless man have to do with your marketing strategy? They all play a part in a cutting-edge category of the marketing industry that is using brain science to decode the ultimate question in business: "why do people buy?" In this talk, Dan will pull back the curtain on the research leading this industry and provide a clear, actionable strategy that will lead you to a more effective and scientific approach to your communications. The Great Contentment. Realigning your work and values in search of more fulfilling work and life. Tina spent 6 years interviewing creatives before launching her coaching practice. In this talk, Tina will weave personal narrative into themes we wrestle with as creatives and inspire you to find your own great contentment through slowing down. What happens when we abandon the hustle? We begin to hear our own voice again, we are able to practice gratitude at a greater level, and we can craft our lives around our values rather than react in the moment. (Tina Essmaker)
