FuckUp Nights: Failure by Design
Fuckup Nights is a global movement where stories of failed ideas and projects are told, questioned and celebrated. The first Fuckup Night happened in Mexico City in September 2012. Since then, people gather in cities all around the world to share stories about going big, and failing hard, and surviving to tell the tale.
So what can you expect? In every Fuckup Night, speakers tell a short story of failure, and how they recovered. What was the project? What went wrong? What did they learn? What would they like to do over...or do they wear their scars proudly? The speakers can be quite varied: artists, designers, technology experts, social entrepreneurs… The one thing that they all have in common? They fucked up. And they’re still here, thriving.
To celebrate Design Week, we'll feature 4 folks working in various areas of the design world. For this round of Fuckup Nights, our fabulous speakers will be Jeremy Pelley of OMFGco, Sal Orara, president of the Portland chapter of AIGA, Nina Narelle of FutureWorkDesign and PNCA student Mallary Wilson.
