Independent Publishing Resource Center

Learn Make Share!

Come learn the basics of three modes of printmaking all in one space! During this open house, talented designers and artists who volunteer as studio stewards at the Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC) will demonstrate the processes with a print-pull in our letterpress, risograph, and screen printing studios. Check out our affordable and collaborative community space.

Come for the print-pulls, zine-making, food and drinks; stay for the community and fun! Take away prints and other ephemera made by YOU in our studios.

With a small staff and 40+ dedicated volunteers, the IPRC provides 45 open studio hours each week when members are encouraged to use our low-cost copiers, letterpress, risograph, and screen printing studios, computer lab, materials, equipment, and resources to create and publish their own work. We also provide monthly printmaking and graphic design workshops, as well as a year-long creative writing Certificate Program, an alternative to an MFA program in the tracks: Art Book, Comics & Graphic Novels, Poetry, and Prose. We work with underserved communities through our outreach program and partnerships, ensuring that we are a resource to all of Portland. We have classroom space and one of the largest zine libraries in the region. We also provide space for community nights like QTIPOC Draw Night, Portland Correspondence Co-op, Collage Night, Poetry Practice Space, and Yoga for Artists & Writers.
